When I think of sport franchises, and their owners, there is always one that stood above the rest in my eyes: Dr. Jerry Buss. The owner of the Los Angeles Lakers was rivaled by no other in my humble opinion. As a long-time Laker fan, it was for this reason only: The Owner. As a child I fell in love with the franchise versus a particular player. What this man envisioned as a fan first, he was able to see manifest as an owner. In the midst of his rise to greatness he was sure to never forget where he came from. The perfect example of the American Dream, from nothing to something. I never knew him personally, but listening to players (former/current) it only make me appreciate what he did, by putting his stamp on the NBA, making me a fan of the game, and most importantly a loyal Laker fan. R.I.P. Dr. Jerry Buss.
